We will return to our regular program of shopping for toys for your children in 2022. We will also have used toys, blankets, food, hats and mittens, wrapping paper and food for a holiday meal. We will NOT have used clothing due to the impossibility of distancing.
The Toy Giveaway (also known as the toy and food distribution) takes place mid-December in the Activity Center at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds (in Jefferson).
Throughout the fall month, Christmas Neighbors collects and campaigns for donations of new toys, gently used toys, wrapping paper, new blankets, new gloves and new hats in addition to non-perishable food. The goal is to not only provide participants with gifts for the holidays but also a complete holiday meal. Aside from donations, the group spends (using monetary donations) thousands of dollars to purchase new toys and some food each year.
But distribution doesn’t stop with toys. Families may select one blanket and an item from the used housewares and holiday décor area. Each child in the family will also receive a hat, a pair of mittens or gloves, and a scarf for the cold winter months.
Changes for people who would like to donate:
We are accepting new and used toy donations, new blankets, wrapping paper, and new hats and mittens. We are not accepting used clothing this year. See the “donate” page for drop off locations.
We DO need more monetary donations to pay for the gift cards we will need. They can be mailed to PO Box 177, Jefferson, 53549 or you may donate through pay pal on donation page of this website.
Changes for those who would like to Adopt a Family:
This part of our program will be the same as in past years.
